South Umpqua High School is seeking its next Varsity Boys’ Basketball 
Coach. Great facility and community support, program has history of

district background check as well as be able to attain OSAA-required

On *May 6th*, *Gladstone *hosts our annual Dick Baker Invitational.  At 
this time, we would like to extend an invitation to any of your 
*para-athletes*.  As you might know, the OSAA has included para-athletes 
in this year's State Track Meet.  Last year the inclusion was exhibition 
only, however this year measures and guideline will be made to include 
the successes of your para-athlete in the team scoring as well.  Please 
email me if you have a* para-athlete* who would like to participate in 
our invitational on *May 6*.

Grant High School seeks a highly qualified individual to serve as Head 
Cheer Coach.  A successful candidate will possess the following qualities:

•             High ethical and professional standards.

•             The presence to be a role model for high school student 
athletes and the public face of the program

•             A commitment to the importance of academic excellence and 
achievement for all student-athletes in the program.

•             Demonstrated ability to lead young athletes

•             A highly tuned ability to communicate effectively to a 
variety of stakeholders

•             Skill in organization, time management, and public relations

•             A thorough knowledge of sideline /_and preferably 
competition_/ cheer, skill development, and coaching techniques

The GHS Head Cheer Coach will be responsible for the following:

•             Manage all aspects of the high school program including 
training, practice schedules and routines.

•             Provide regular communication with parents/families

•             Regularly track the academic progress of all student 
athletes in the program and facilitate necessary supports to ensure 
their academic eligibility.

•             Cooperate with other school-sponsored sports and encourage 
athletes to compete in other programs.

•             Develop and implement an off-season program for track.

•             Work with local media as needed and establish strong 
working relationships with community support groups.

All new hired coaches will need to complete the following prior to 
employment:

1.  NFHS Certification.

2.  First Aid Card.

3.  District Fingerprinting/Criminal Check.

4.  Completion of OSAA Concussion Test.

5.  Completion of OSAA Steroid Program.

6.  Completion of School District and OSAA paperwork.

7.  Completion of OSAA Heat Acclimatization and Heat Illness Prevention.

8.  Completion of All District Requirements and employment forms.

Applicants are asked to submit:

1.  Letter of application detailing your experience related to this 
position and working with students.

3.  A minimum of three letters or recommendation.

4.  A minimum of five references with contact information.
